Universal Credit is still not fit for purpose. It’s failing to support the people across the country it was designed to help. Pause the roll out until the broken system is fixed - or scrap it entirely.

Why is this important?

Universal Credit is still causing hardship and pain across the UK.

Right now, families across the country are being forced into food banks and onto the streets by a system that is meant to help those struggling to get by.

This has gone too far. The roll out of Universal Credit must be paused until the system is fixed and makes sure that:

No one falls through the cracks when transitioning onto the new system
No one is left worse off by moving onto Universal Credit
No one is left waiting for weeks before receiving the money they need to survive
Sanctions, all of which are proven not to work, are scrapped
