Sign the open letter: Rishi Sunak, do more to support families
Energy bills are already out of control.
Now with news that the average bill is set to rise by £693, families across the country face a crisis.
Some of us will have to turn off our heating completely, and some will have to make the gut wrenching choice about keeping our families warm or putting food on the table.
Enough is enough. A temporary loan of £200 doesn’t do nearly enough to fix this problem.
As Chancellor, we’re asking you to do much, much more. Tax the energy giants, like BP and Shell, which are making billions from this crisis to help bring down our bills and invest in insulating our homes so we’re less exposed to rising costs in future.
