To Pimlico Academy
Petition text:
Why is this important?
Students at Pimlico Academy have been threatened with disciplinary action after protesting against school policies they claimed were racist. The school’s management backtracked on changes to uniform and haircut rules after hundreds of pupils walked out. But now the Academy has sent out letters threatening to discipline the young people who organised the protest. It’s also warned pupils against future demonstrations.
Standing up for what you believe is a fundamental democratic right. And young people should be encouraged to question the world around them. The more of us who stand up beside these young people, the more the school will see that they can’t punish pupils for protesting for what they believe in.
