Boris Johnson: Before you clap for bankers, give NHS workers the pay rise they deserve
Dear Boris Johnson,
Recently you said you wanted to clap for “our wealth creators, our capitalists, our financiers.”
But in the same press conference you were asked if you would reward our incredible NHS workers - who have put their lives on the line during this crisis - a pay rise. You declined to commit to doing so.
At the height of the pandemic, ministers in your government, and you yourself, promised that NHS workers will be rewarded properly for risking their lives to keep us all safe. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is.
So before you start clapping for bankers, we’re asking you to make good on your promises and give our NHS staff - from cleaners to porters to nurses - the pay rise they deserve.
