To Elizabeth Truss
Dear Liz Truss
Please don't make decisions about our bees behind closed doors
The British public really care about bees - and the declining bee population is a huge concern. So please make emergency applications to lift the ban on neonicotinoid pesticides fully transparent to the public.
Right now any decisions are taken behind closed doors - this isn’t good enough. Even your own Environmental Audit Committee has urged you to be more open - saying that emergency use applications warrant greater levels of transparency.
We call on you to publish information about any application to use neonicotinoids prior to any decision being made.
