To Prime Minister Theresa May and Sajid Javid, Home Secretary
- Prioritise NHS workers under new, post-Brexit immigration rules
- Provide funding that allows people already living here to train up as nurses, doctors and other NHS staffing roles that we need.
Why is this important?
Imagine an NHS which diagnoses cancer earlier, where millions more people get help for anxiety and depression, and where we can get an appointment with our GP quicker and easier.
That’s the plan the government just announced for our NHS for the next 10 years. But there’s a problem: a huge shortage of doctors, nurses and other NHS staff could mean none of this becomes a reality. Experts have said the government’s plans for a new immigration system after Brexit - which currently prioritises welcoming bankers to the UK over nurses - could mean this vision for the NHS never comes to light.
Will you ask the government to make sure a new immigration system prioritise our NHS after Brexit?
