Add your name to the open letter to Nicola Sturgeon supporting an open conversation about how tax increases can better fund our NHS, education and other public services.
Here's the letter:
Dear Nicola Sturgeon,
We are writing to support your proposal for an “open conversation” on tax increases.
We all want Scotland’s public services to be as good as they can be, and we all want action to tackle poverty and inequality. Too often politicians shy away from the role tax increases can play. We welcome your willingness to have an honest conversation.
Any tax increases will have to be done in the right way. We expect you to listen to the public. We expect you to ensure that any increases are fair, with the wealthiest contributing the most. We will look carefully at the detail of any proposals you bring forward, and will be ready to raise our voices if we have concerns.
However, your proposal for an “open conversation” is a great start. We look forward to taking part in it.
Will you chip in?
Thanks so much for adding your name to the open letter to Nicola Sturgeon. If all of us chip in a few quid, we can also pay for professional polling across Scotland to show the government that the public are on board. You can make a secure donation here:
